Dear All
As we gather with our families this Easter, surrounded by warmth, love and a sense of belonging, it’s a moment to reflect on what truly matters – comfort, connection and the people we hold dear.
Not everyone will experience this over the Easter weekend.
Sadly, many military veterans – those who once stood to protect our freedom – face uncertainty, isolation, hardship. It is because of their service that we are able to be with our families over this holiday time; we enjoy safety and peace in our lives – safety and peace they helped protect.
Since February last year, the Veteran Empowerment Program at the V Centre has supported more than 30 veterans: the Program is achieving what it was intended to do. These veterans have had the support they needed to overcome their challenges: they have transitioned into permanent housing, found jobs, begun study, or returned as volunteers to help others. In some cases, this Program has not just changed a life—it has saved a life. Someone’s child, someone’s parent, someone’s partner. Each with their own story. Each deserving hope.
This Easter, I ask you to help us continue this vital work. Your gift – large or small, one-off or ongoing – helps offer a meaningful way forward for those who have given so much for us and our country.
If you are able, we ask you to support those who served and now need our assistance, so they too can find comfort, connection and a place to belong.
Wishing you and your loved ones a peaceful and meaningful Easter.
