Home Care

'Home Care' is a government-funded service for eligible people, providing funding to cover the assistance you need to help you feel confident at home.

We understand the importance of staying at home in your familiar environment: our Community Services Team can help you safely maintain your independence and daily routine, feeling confident doing so.

Vasey RSL Care is an approved provider of the government's Home Care Packages, and the DVA's Veterans’ Home Care service. Our advisors will guide you through the process of developing a plan for care and services (Personal Care Plan) to meet your needs so you can continue to enjoy the comfort and familiarity of your own home and local community.

Applying for a Home Care Package

A Home Care Package is for people aged 65 or over and is based on an assessment of your needs made by the Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT). Their assessment will determine whether you will receive home care funding, and if so, which level funding it will be – Level 1, 2, 3 or 4.

You can check your eligibility and register on the government’s My Aged Care website.. My Aged Care will ask you questions to understand your needs and care arrangements. They may then arrange for a trained assessor to visit you at home to discuss your support needs.

Once you have registered, the Department will put you on a waitlist until your funding Package is approved. Once approved, our staff will be able to set up the services you need.

Similarly, if your funding does not cover all you would like, we can help you decide what is most important – or you can contribute to make up the difference.
