We are here to support veterans, whatever their needs. Our VHSOs are connected to a wide range of organisations and services - they find the right people to put you in touch with.
Serving Those Who Served
The primary role of our Veteran Housing & Support Officers (VHSO) is to support Veterans and their family members with housing solutions.
They assist with navigating and connecting with services – those offered at Vasey RSL Care and those available through other providers.
Our services include:
- o the V Centre Veteran Empowerment Program at Ivanhoe
- o long-term rental housing in our Ex-Service Accommodation (ESA) at various locations
Our goal is to ensure that Veterans and their families have positive housing outcomes.
Our VHSOs and ESA team members have extensive networks in the veteran community, including Veterans’ and Families’ Hubs, DVA and Open Arms, and with community housing providers and mainstream services.
Our staff take incoming enquiries and ensure that they are directed to the right place and responded to in a timely manner – we know that many people are seeking urgent housing assistance.
We will assist veterans with applying for suitable accommodation and will stay in contact with them for while they stabilise their housing situation.
We offer a helpful starting point: we welcome Veterans to call us with any enquiry, and we can guide them to the appropriate next step, even if that is not housing-related.
