Big thanks to our residents Alan and Steve for speaking to the Herald Sun about the need for more support for homeless veterans.

Both are pictured with General Manager Veteran Services, Chris Gray at the future home of The V Centre Veteran Empowerment Program, in Ivanhoe.

The article also quoted CEO Janna Voloshin saying:

“The Australian Defence Force excels at integrating civilians into military life, and it is crucial for the same level of care to be provided for a smooth transition out of the military into civilian life.”

The Project – Channel 9 – 11 July 2023

The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) published its report ‘How long can Australians live?‘ on 11 July, which was picked up by many of the news channels, including Channel 9’s ‘The Project’.

Featured on the program was our own resident from Vasey RSL Care Frankston South, Joan, one of our recent centenarians!

Joan was a natural on TV: “A hundred came and a hundred went – and I’m still here,” she told The Project. “It feels great – I’m lucky to be alive,” she said with a smile.
