Honouring our heritage, welcoming people from all parts of the world

Each year on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, we pause to remember those who served and those who gave their lives in the service of our nation. It is a moment of reflection — to honour courage, sacrifice, and the enduring spirit of those who stood for freedom and peace.

As we wear the poppy and observe the silence, we are reminded not only of the cost of war, but of the values our service men and women fought to protect — respect, fairness, compassion, and the right to live freely together. They fought for a country where inclusion triumphs over division, and where hatred has no place.

We are privileged to live in a nation that honours its heritage while welcoming people from all parts of the world — a country bound by shared values and pride in being Australian. These are the values we uphold at Vasey RSL Care as we support veterans and their families every day.

On this Remembrance Day, let us reaffirm our commitment to the Australia they fought for — a place of unity, respect, and belonging for all.
