Our Ex-Service Accommodation (ESA) offers a safe and secure place to call home among people with shared experiences. Accommodation costs are well below comparable private rentals and offer greater lease security. Buildings and grounds are maintained by Vasey RSL Care. Accommodation is for veterans of all ages, partners, war widows and immediate dependents.
You will be welcomed into a community environment among those with similar values and experiences. You can be involved in group events and activities if you wish. Our staff will connect you to services to support you with any issues or difficulties you are experiencing.

Eligibility
Our units are open to people of any age in the veteran community including:
- People who have served in the Australian Defence Forces (ADF) or Allied Forces.
- Widows/widowers of ADF or Allied Forces members.
- Current dependents of either of the above (eg their children or other person in their care).
Note: priority is given to those in greatest need.

Welcoming New Residents
Our Veteran Services Team visit all new residents to make sure they are settling in well and that they all the information they need.
Encouraging Residents to Meet Others
Many of the ex-service accommodation locations have active groups of residents who organise activities and events.
Our staff will help you connect to others and join in the activities you enjoy, or meet some neighbours.
Community events
Our staff arrange various activities for residents – these include meetings with the Vasey RSL Care team, the occasional morning tea or a speaker, activities for Veterans’ Health Week and a Christmas gathering at most sites – depending on the size and location of the site.

Our team can provide support for residents when needed: we will help you arrange services and put you in touch with veteran-friendly service providers if required.
