Welcoming New Residents

Our Veteran Services Team visit all new residents to make sure they are settling in well and that they all the information they need.

Encouraging Residents to Meet Others

Many of the ex-service accommodation locations have active groups of residents who organise activities and events.

Our staff will help you connect to others and join in the activities you enjoy, or meet some neighbours.

Community events

Our staff arrange various activities for residents – these include meetings with the Vasey RSL Care team, the occasional morning tea or a speaker, activities for Veterans’ Health Week and a Christmas gathering at most sites – depending on the size and location of the site.

Help when needed

Our team can provide support for residents when needed: we will help you arrange services and put you in touch with veteran-friendly service providers if required.

Back on my feet

I’m a recently divorced father of 3 and currently studying, I needed a place for me and my kids in order for me to continue visitation with them.

[Vasey RSL Care’s Ex-Service Accommodation] ESA not only provided me and my children a home, they helped me get back on my feet in an otherwise dark moment in my life, reduced rent, no hassle maintenance calls and just an overall positive and inviting manner towards every situation I was faced whilst living in my home, I will be forever thankful for what ESA has given me over the past 18 months.

If it wasn't for your team...

Thank you for all your help over this stressful time. Starting to settle in. Have still got a long way to go but am slowly getting the help I need.

If it wasn’t for your team I have no idea where I would be now.

I felt incredibly relieved

As soon as I was given the key to my unit and went and opened the door, I felt incredibly relieved.

I just slept.

On the day I planned to end my life...

On the day I planned to end my life, I received a call from [a Vasey RSL Care staff member] to say they had a unit for me.

I’ve been living there ever since.

Vasey saved my life.
