Vasey RSL Care Brighton East is our newest home with excellent facilities and lovely grounds.

Set in leafy Brighton East, our aged care home is on two floors with easy access via lifts in all areas.

Sharing the grounds is a heritage-listed stone-built pioneer church, as well as walking paths, a barbecue area and well-kept gardens.

In the entrance lobby, we have a coffee shop providing hot drinks, snacks and ice creams.

Dedicated respite care option

If you are looking for short-term care for yourself or your loved one, our Brighton East aged care home now offers a dedicated room for your stay.

This is a great option for additional support after a hospital stay, or just to provide carers with a break. ‘A change is as good as a rest’. A respite stay offers new surroundings, with food cooked by our chef on site, an extensive program of lifestyle activities, including outings and events, to take part in if you wish.

Respite care can be between two and four weeks and can be booked in advance to assist with your planning.

Option 1 - Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAD)

Some people prefer  to pay a Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAD) as a lump sum amount. Note that interest is payable at a rate set by government from the day of arrival until the RAD is paid in full.)

Option 2 - Daily Accommodation Payment (DAP)

Some people choose to pay a Daily Accommodation Payment (DAP) which accrues daily and is paid periodically. The DAP is calculated based on the entry price and interest rate set by government.

Option 3 - Combination Payment

Some people like a combination of both the above options – paying a part Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAD) and a lower Daily Accommodation Payment (DAP).

Basic Daily Fee

Per day



The Basic Daily Fee pays for day-to-day services including meals, cleaning, laundry and facility management. All residents ae required to pay this fee, no matter which aged care home you choose. It is billed monthly in advance.


The fee is set by Government at 85% of the single person rate of the basic age pension in accordance with the Aged Care Act 1997, at 20 March and 20 September each year in line with changes to the age pension.

Additional Services Daily Fee

Per day



The Additional Services Daily Fee pays for the amenities, additional choices and services that go beyond the minimum care and service requirements.


These services are not subsidised by Government.


Respite residents and permanent residents who have been assessed as ‘Fully Supported’ by the Government, pay a reduced daily fee of $6.95 per day.

Means-Tested Care Fee

Means Tested


The Means-tested Care Fee goes towards your personal and clinical care. It is charged from your date of arrival.


The amount you pay is determined by Services Australia (formerly the Department of Human Services), based on an assessment of your income and assets.


Not everyone will have to pay this fee. There are also annual and lifetime caps on the Means-tested Care Fee.
