Vasey RSL Care celebrates a year of achievements

After celebrating our 10th anniversary earlier in 2014, last Friday, we celebrated the contributions of our staff at our Saluting Excellence Conference.
The conference combined staff and management presentations with awards that recognise high achieving staff who perform beyond their position description and inspire others to do the same.

The major Saluting Excellence Award, the CEO’s Award, was presented to Linda Brownfield, Lifestyle Coordinator at ANZAC Hostel in Brighton. With double the number of nominations from last year, 10 awards were presented to 23 individual staff members plus the Magnet Award for best staff retention rate presented to ANZAC Hostel.
Opening the conference, Vasey RSL CEO, Janna Voloshin congratulated staff on building an organisation with an enviable reputation as an aged care provider, committed to best practice and innovative solutions to meet the needs of the ex-service community.
Janna said in 2013-14, Vasey RSL Care had provided aged care accommodation for 670 residents throughout five facilities; accommodation for 407 residents at independent living units; and delivered home care services to 239 clients living in their own homes.
“I’m pleased to report that veterans and war widows made up almost 90 percent of our residents and clients,” Janna said.
“But it is not just the number of veterans and war widows that we care for, the quality of our care is vitally important to us.”
Closing the conference, Janna congratulated all staff who had embraced the aims, mission and values of Vasey RSL Care in building its reputation as a preferred provider of superior aged care in residential, independent living and at home services for veterans and war widows.
