At yesterday’s Annual General Meeting held at ANZAC House in the city, Vasey RSL Care members, board and executive met to conduct the official business for the organisation.
Board Chair, David Paroissien OAM FCPA AGIA, acknowledged the work of fellow board members, CEO Janna Voloshin, the executive management team and staff, throughout the year.
Board Member, John Cullen OAM, presented the financial results and thanked the finance staff for their work and acknowledged the auditors for their expertise in this area.
During the year, Board Member Rob Webster became Victorian State President of the RSL and stood down from his board position. Barry Lowe was appointed to the vacancy during the year, and his role was formalised today. Barry brings his expertise in the building industry to the Board.
Three board members had served their three year terms and their positions were up for re-election: Elizabeth Edwards, Elise Sullivan and John Cullen were re-elected unopposed, with David Paroissien, Tony Carr and Michael O’Meara OAM making up the full board, with no changes resulting.
CEO, Janna Voloshin (above left), spoke about the challenges and achievements of the year, noting that there were many more achievements than there were challenges. She finished her presentation by talking about the new ‘Hero’s Wish’ program, which seeks to fulfill the wishes of the veterans and war widows in the Vasey RSL Care community.
She concluded with a short video showing a wish recently fulfilled for Warren, a resident at our Bundoora home, who wished to play golf.
