A letter from our CEO
Dear all
CEO Janna Voloshin (left) and General Manager Quality and Risk, Annette Greenwood, discuss the requirements for the January submission.
There has been considerable media attention about aged care this year, and on 8 October, the Federal Government set up a Royal Commission to find out more and make recommendations for improvement.
As an organisation that has cared for Australia’s seniors, in particular the ex-service community, since the end of World War I, Vasey RSL Care is committed to providing the best possible care and support to all those in our community – our home care consumers, those in residential aged care, and our independent living unit tenants. We are therefore supportive of any effort to improve the quality of care.
Our organisation has been included in the first one hundred organisations required to provide a submission to the Royal Commission by 7 January 2019. We must provide information on a range of factors, including:
This is an important time for aged care and as we approach 2019 and the introduction of the new Aged Care Quality Standards, I see this as an opportunity for us to express our views at the highest level. I hope that the outcome of this Royal Commission will be to the benefit to Australia’s seniors.
You may wish to express your views and I encourage you to visit this website where you will be able to find out more. Note: the Royal Commission website states, “The Royal Commission will continue to accept submissions until at least the end of June 2019. A date for the closing of submissions will be announced in the second half of 2019.”
The Board, the Executive Management Team and staff at Vasey RSL Care are committed to ensuring we continue to offer the best possible outcomes for veterans, war widows and all others in our community, as we have been doing for many years.
Yours sincerely
Janna Voloshin,
CEO
