Ellen Marsh (L) celebrating 35 years, and Maree Browne (R) celebrating 20 years, receive their awards from Janna Voloshin, CEO.
30 June 2016:
“I like working with the elderly, it’s a good team and we’re treated well,” Ellen Marsh says.
Ellen recently reached 35 years’ service at Vasey RSL Care! She is one of the 40% of employees who have worked for the organisation for more than five years.
Ellen was presented with a mark of appreciation from CEO, Janna Voloshin, together with Maree Browne, who achieved 20 years’ service.
The high quality services offered in our residential aged care sites, Home Care Packages and Independent Living Units are the result of employee efforts. As an organisation, we are committed to honouring and encouraging employees for their dedication to service, contributions and achievements in support of the organisation’s Mission.
Vasey RSL Care holds an annual staff conference, during which the Saluting Excellence Awards are presented, acknowledging the service of staff members. The organisation also acknowledges the work of our Health and Safety Representatives, and the Employee Recognition Program ensures that staff loyalty is acknowledged. Those with five years of service or greater are presented with a gift card, in addition to a recognition certificate.
Now, staff also receive one of the new Length of Service lapel pins when they have reached 10 years or more. The pins are engraved with an acknowledgement of the employees’ service milestone – 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 or 35 years.
Next time you visit any of our workplaces, look out for one of the 78 employees who have already reached one of these impressive milestones.
Staying with our organisation is important, because these people have developed significant experience, knowledge and expertise which are of great value in the care of our residents and clients.
“We are very proud of our highly competent employees, who make a difference every day in the lives of our residents and clients”, says Janna Voloshin, CEO. “To have so many staff celebrating these milestones shows that we are doing something right. That they stay so long shows they are happy in their work, and is a demonstration of their loyalty to the residents, clients, colleagues and the organisation. We are grateful to all our staff for the work they do and congratulate them on receiving their years of service recognition. We hope that they will wear their new lapel pins with pride.”
