Acting Residential Manager, Alexandra Wilinski, a winner in SACS Leadership Awards

Alexandra Wilinksi is Acting Residential Manager at Vasey RSL Care’s Sir William Hall Hostel in Ivanhoe, and last evening at the SACS Leadership Awards dinner, she was awarded first place in the Leadership Award in Aged Care – Non-executive.
Alex has a degree in nursing and whilst studying, she worked as a Personal Care Worker and Lifestyle Assistant at Vasey Brighton East. After finishing her studies she considered doing her Graduate Nurse year, but realised that her passion was in aged care and management.
She spent a few months working first as Team Leader and then as After Hours Supervisor before being appointed as Facility Care Coordinator at Vasey Brighton East, a role she carried out for three years.
“It was clear to me from the moment she joined our organisation that Alex had leadership potential,” says CEO, Janna Voloshin. “It is important to us to nurture the talent that we see in our staff and provide them with opportunities to grow and flourish.”
Alex was given the opportunity to step up to the role of Acting Residential Manager at Sir William Hall Hostel in Ivanhoe, and she has been in this role now for nine months. In her acceptance speech, Alex thanked Vasey RSL Care’s management for this opportunity and for supporting her career progression.

She is passionate about aged care and brings a positive attitude to her work and her colleagues. She is an excellent operator who follows best practice policy and procedures in her work. We are delighted that Alex has been recognised in the SACS Leadership Awards and we congratulate her on winning this award.”
The SACS Leadership Awards have been running for 11 years with $445K being given in prize money during that time. Alex received a cheque for $7,500 to be used to further promote and enhance leadership in the organisation.
