16 November 2016:
Vasey RSL Care’s Annual General Meeting took place at ANZAC House in the city on Wednesday 16 November.
Board Chair, David Paroissien, thanked members, staff and Board Members for their support throughout the 2015-16 year. He particularly noted the contribution of the late Mr Alec Fuller, who passed away suddenly in September, and whose support of the organisation went back to the merger of Vasey Housing Victoria and RSL Care Victoria in 2004. Alec was highly instrumental in this merger and went on to support the organisation, always being a voice for the staff at the Board level.
David presented the two retiring board members, Pamela Blamey and Maree Bowman, with a gift and flowers in appreciation of their work over the course of their directorships – six and nine years respectively. [Pictured: Pam, left].
David also welcomed new board member, Tony Carr, as he joins the Board for the coming year, bringing to the organisation his extensive expertise in the veteran sector within state government.
Vasey RSL Care CEO, Janna Voloshin, described the year as one of change that will build the foundation for the future of aged care and the future of the organisation. Aged Care legislation and system changes are necessary, she told the meeting, and our organisation must ensure that it finds innovative ways to continue to provide high quality services to the ex-service community.
