Our staff tell us that Vasey RSL Care is a great place to work, and we want to keep recruiting people who will add to the team spirit and high standards of care that we are all proud of.
Vasey RSL Care regularly runs Group Information Sessions for prospective employees. An invitation to the Group Information Sessions gives you the opportunity to find out more about us and for us to find out more about you.
Following the Group Information Session, our selection process includes an online psychometric assessment, an interview and referee checks. If a Group Information Session is not scheduled in the immediate future, your recruitment process may begin with an invitation to meet a manager and supervisor for an interview.
When you apply, you will receive an initial acknowledgement that your application has been received via our eRecruit system. You can log in to the eRecruit system at any time to view the status of your application. We will always notify you of the outcome of your application, whether successful or not, so that you know where you stand.
We have an obligation to ensure that all employees have the legal right to work in Australia. For this reason, when we invite you to attend a Group Information Session we ask you to bring your original passport, Australian birth certificate or Citizenship certificate (or a certified copy of one of these documents) for us to verify your work entitlement. We also ask that you bring any qualifications that are relevant to the role for which you have applied.
The Group Information Session will run for between 60 and 90 minutes.
Vasey RSL Care uses psychometric assessments as a standard step in our selection process for all roles: these are online tasks which you can complete from your computer at home. Our Human Resources representative will contact you to set this up.
We use one or a combination of:
These assessments help us evaluate valuable matches for our available positions and working environment.
It is a requirement for all employees/volunteers working in Aged Care services approved by the Australian Government to undergo a national criminal history record check (police check). This must be conducted every three years and applies to people working in both residential aged care and community care. Upon an offer of employment/volunteering, Vasey RSL Care will initiate the police check process at no expense to you. This check, completed by the state police, reveals whether an individual has been charged with and/or convicted of a criminal offence.
All police check outcomes are considered in accordance with applicable legislation and relevant standards to determine suitability for employment in aged care. In the case that you have an old criminal record, this will be discussed with you to ensure an informed assessment can be made.

All employment appointments with Vasey RSL Care are subject to a satisfactory police check.
While some volunteer opportunities are for short-term projects or events, many of our volunteers choose long-term roles due to the friendships they build with Vasey RSL Care residents and staff. There is no commitment to volunteering for a set duration and our Lifestyle Coordinators are happy to discuss your individual situation with you to find the best option.
Please contact the Lifestyle Coordinator at your nearest Vasey RSL Care site and they will assist you with all the necessary information. More information on our residential home locations.
Don’t be scared of our detailed recruitment process, as ensuring the privacy, safety and security of our residents is paramount, and the thorough process is to protect them first and foremost.
